RESUME

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

University of Texas San Antonio Parlegal Certificate 2005
Illinois Institute of Technology Ph.D. 1976 Psychology
Illinois Institute of Technology M.S. 1974 Psychology
Roosevelt University B.S. 1968 Psychology

EXPERIENCE:

August, 2003 - October, 2004: General Dynamics i (see below)

Conducted original research on kinetic non-kethal weapons and nonlethal electronic weapons, such as the TASER.

November, 1997 - August, 2003: Veridian Engineering

Continue original research on the bio-behavioral effects of high intensity acoustic energy and radiofrequency radiation.

1989-November, 1997: Systems Research Laboratory

1994-1997 Senior scientist Conduct original research on the bio-behavioral effects of high intensity acoustic energy in a variety of realistic scenarios.

1990-1997 Senior Scientist Conduct original research on the bio-behavioral effects of radiofrequency radiation. Developed a dosimetry technique that allows visualization of microwave fields. Developed a new dosimetry technique that allows dosimetry data to be acquired during high intensity microwave exposures. Identified, described, and defined a series of three behavioral endpoints that occur in a series of realistic scenarios as a result of exposures to high intensity radiofrequency radiation. Hardened behavioral and physiological recording equipment for use in hostile environments.

1989-1990 Research Scientist. Conduct original research on the effects of heat stress and physical work on exposure to nerve agents, prophylactics, antidotes, and their combinations in a primate model of human physiological responses.

1985-Present: Words Plus

Research, develop, and write articles dealing with science, medicine, computers, and the law for non-specialists; in general, trade, business, and technical magazines. Develop and write trade (non-technical) books. Provide research and editing services for other writers to help them get published in the forum of their choice.

1983-1989: Biofeedback and Stress Management Consultants

Provided information about stress and stress management to individuals and groups. Provided stress management consultation for business and government. Presented seminars about stress and stress management. Provided one-on-one biofeedback therapy for stress-related disorders.

1975-1982: Texas A&M University, Biology Department
Assistant Professor.

Conducted original research on neural coding, including developing statistical procedures for testing specific hypotheses about the form and structure of the neural code of individual neurons. Developed a microelectrode/amplifier package that allows recording of action potentials from individual neurons for hours to days. Developed a series of simple, but statistically sound techniques to test times series to determine if they are stationary:non-stationary, random:non-random, and/or independent:dependent. Developed a new cybernetic coding scheme, with coding in the time domain. Provided detailed evidence that single neurons process information as 'bytes' rather than 'bits'

Conducted original research on the psychopharmacology of naturally occurring hallucinogens, focusing on catnip in the cat as a potential model of human drug seeking behavior.

Conducted original research on the role of pheromones in controlling social and sexual behavior in cattle.

Taught human physiology to more than 2,000 undergraduates, as well as psychopharmacology, quantitative neurophysiology, and behavioral teratology to graduate students.

1969-1975: University of Illinois Medical School, Department of Pharmacology
Research Associate.

Conducted original research on the relationship between behavior and the concurrent electrical activity of the nervous system, including slow, electroencephalographic, and single neuron action potentials.

1968 to 1969: Children's Memorial Hospital, Neurology Department
Research Assistant.

Developed animal models of hyperactivity and petit mal epilepsy and evaluated potential treatments.

1965-1967: University of Illinois Medical School, Department of Psychiatry
Research Assistant.

Evaluated the effects of central nervous system lesions on learning and sexual behavior in various species of monkeys and domestic cats.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret

i I worked for basically the same company from 1989 to 2004. Systems Research Laboratory merged with Veda to form Veridian Engineering and Veridian Engineering was bought by General Dynamics.
